The sign in front of the shop read, “Happy Birthday, 1 out of every 365 people will appreciate the attempt.” That’s the nature and feeling that you get anytime you visit Halevy’s Portland.

“The humor is rampant,” said Brandon Colker, frequent coffee drinker and Halevy patron. Without the humor it’s another great Seattle coffee shop but with the light hearted atmosphere Halevy’s is a must-see stop on your coffee tour of the coffee capital of the world. The Pacific Northwest has always been known as a coffee lovers paradise and Halevy’s continues that tradition.

Located down the street from Pike’s, Halevy’s is easy to get to, plenty of parking of 9th St. and easy access from public transportation.

Colker says, “If you just want a cup a joe, Halevy’s is great. If you want to sit and enjoy the people, Halevy’s is great. In fact, Halevy’s is great for just about any occasion, except maybe a funeral. Actually, I think I would appreciate it for my funeral. This is getting morbid, we should change the subject.” Regular customer Brandon Colker obviously embodies the off the cuff humorous attitude that Halevy was striving for and obviously achieved when he opened Halevy’s in 2009.
